About TutoringForSat.com
Free SAT and PSAT score tools built on official tables, plus plain answers about retakes, test-optional schools and SAT tutoring.
What this site does
TutoringForSat.com answers the questions that come right after a score report. What did I score on this practice test? Is that score good? What's it worth on the ACT? Does my PSAT put me near a National Merit cutoff? Should I retake, should I send the score to a test-optional school, and if I'm thinking about a tutor, what will it actually cost per hour?
There are eight tools: the SAT score calculator, the SAT to ACT converter, the PSAT to SAT conversion, Is My SAT Score Good?, the National Merit calculator, the tutoring cost calculator, and the retake and submit decision tools. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is stored.
How the numbers are checked and kept current
- Official sources only. Scores and percentiles come from College Board, ACT/SAT matches from the official 2018 ACT and College Board concordance, and National Merit cutoffs from published compilations of National Merit Scholarship Corporation releases. Each result names its source and year.
- Row-by-row checks. Before a table is used, every row is compared with its source. On October 7, 2026, all four data tables on this site (the practice test conversion, the percentile table, the concordance and the state cutoffs) were checked that way and matched.
- A refresh calendar. National Merit cutoffs are replaced every September. College Board's averages and percentiles are refreshed when it publishes new annual data. Practice tests are added to the score calculator only after their own tables get the same check.
- No invented numbers. No made-up tutoring prices, no promised point gains and no "growth" formulas without a published basis. When something is an estimate, the page says so.
TutoringForSat.com isn't affiliated with College Board, ACT or the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. If you spot a number that doesn't match an official source, please tell us and it'll be checked and fixed.
